The use of authentic materials like wires, bricks, lights, pipes, and a feature tool wall, honors NECA’s 120+ year history of bringing electrical power, lighting, and communications to buildings and communities across the United States. Bold gestures such as neon lights, bright colors, and a plant wall foster inspiration for the future.
Thoughtfully spaced “Easter eggs” give a nod to each trade represented by NECA, creating unexpected and fun design details around every corner. A striking yellow ceiling feature represents the three different types of electrical data busways that NECA’s visiting members would immediately recognize. Additionally, authentic light poles were added off the pantry; real electrical wires were replaced with LED lights and each pole was custom cut to fit the space.
Visual and acoustic privacy were also top of mind when a mixture of closed and open workstations were prescribed for the 12th floor layout overlooking downtown Washington D.C.
